Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
San Francisco is not a big breakfast town. Try happy donuts for a perfect scone and good cup of coffee, the location at 4th and King is the best. |
Lunch |
Boudin bakery has excellent sandwiches and soup for a pick up on a cool day. You can also grab a loaf of sourdough to take home. Sit outside if it's warm enough, but it's probably not. |
Dinner |
In the Embarcadero center, go to Gaylords for elegant Indian cuisine. Don't be put off if you are not sure what to order, the staff are very helpful or chicken out and take the buffet. Save room for desert, the gulab jamun is delicious. |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
Come into the city on the BART train. There's no parking anywhere and the ride is a treat in itself. Get off at Embarcadero station and pick up 2nd st. Walk south through the revived neighborhood, home to the recent internet boom. Breakfast across from the ballpark. |
Afternoon |
Walk from downtown, north along the water to Levi Plaza. A pleasant square surrounded by restored gold rush era buildings. Take the Filbert steps up the side of Telegraph hill to the top, enjoy the view and the area. |
Evening |
Through North beach, or Chinatown, your choice back to the Embarcadero Center for dinner. There lots of shopping too on the second level. Since you are above the street the strolling is very fine, stop it at a club or bar if you are so inclined. |
Late Night |
For coffee lovers, the Buena Vista cafe in North Beach is the reputed home of Irish Coffee. Settle in there with a cup or two and be warm and cozy. |
